The demand for food wheat from Ukraine is recovering in the ports

Wheat prices showed active decline in the absence of new support factors and against the backdrop of optimism about weather conditions for crops in the United States. This was reported by Barva Invest.

The situation on the Ukrainian market remains without particular changes against the background of restrained trade activity. As before, trade is mainly focused on fodder grains. However, the demand for the food group is gradually recovering.

Latest indications:

March Chicago wheat contract — $5.96/bu (-$0.19/bu);

the March wheat contract on Euronext — 218.5 €/t (-2.25 €/t);

DAP-Port Danube (11.5%) — $180/t;

DAP-Deep-water ports (11.5%) — $178-185/t.

Corn prices continued to decline amid pressure from neighboring markets and concerns about the prospects for US exports.

"Prices on the Ukrainian market are kept within the previous ranges, and the maximum prices are offered mainly by little-known companies. In their turn, sellers mainly monitor the market, and the activity of the supply remains restrained," the analysts noted.
