The head of the regional hydrometeorological center, Vitaliy Postrygan, spoke about how the weather will affect wintering crops. According to him, winter crops will continue to be in a state of shallow winter dormancy. This is reported by Suspilne, writes agronews.ua.

"There are no conditions for the start of growth processes due to low temperatures. However, plants will breathe, which means they will lose nutrients. We do not expect risks for plant damage due to adverse agrometeorological conditions. The soil is weakly frozen, melting on top, which will contribute to the replenishment of moisture reserves," he explained.

However, the problem of the warm winter is pests, in particular, mice, the meteorologist added.
