Farmers continue to harvest corn for the 2023 harvest

As of January 25, farmers threshed 3.65 million hectares of corn (90% of the forecast), the harvest amounted to 28.48 million tons. This is reported by Kurkul.com.

50,000 tons of corn were harvested during the week. Farmers of 13 oblasts have already completed the grain harvest (Vinnytsia, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhya, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Rivne, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky and Chernivtsi.

Almost all corn was threshed in Volyn (98%), Cherkasy (98%), Lviv (97%), Zhytomyr (96%) and Poltava (92%).

At the same time, in the frontline regions, quite significant areas of corn have not been threshed.

The average yield of corn in Ukraine is 7.79 t/ha. The highest yield is fixed at:

Ternopil Oblast — 10.6 t/ha;

Khmelnytskyi — 10.4 t/ha;

Lviv Oblast — 10.1 t/ha.

At the same time, the yield of corn in Kherson region and Zaporizhzhia is below 3 t/ha.

Regions-leaders in terms of corn harvest:

Poltava region — 3.8 million tons;

Cherkasy region — 3.07 million tons;

Chernihiv region — 2.83 million tons;

Vinnytsia — 2.69 million tons;

Kyiv Region — 2.24 million tons.
