Cabbage of the new crop began to appear on the market, prices are 40% lower than last year

The first batches of young cabbage began to appear on the market. This year, the start of the early cabbage season took place at about the same time as last year. This was reported by EastFruit analysts.

As noted, this was partly possible thanks to a fairly mild winter and fairly good spring weather.

So, today white cabbage of the 2024 harvest goes on sale at a price of UAH 20-25/kg ($0.51-0.63/kg), which is on average 40% cheaper than the first batches of this product last year.

There is also imported young cabbage produced in Macedonia on the Ukrainian market. The price of imported cabbage of the new harvest began to decrease rapidly in connection with the arrival on the market of the first batches of this locally produced product.

So, today, cabbage produced in Macedonia is offered for sale at an average price of UAH 25/kg ($0.23/kg), which actually corresponds to the price range for local products.

 

We will remind you that a week earlier, Ukrainian farmers began to gradually raise prices for white cabbage of the 2023 harvest. The main reason is a seasonal reduction in supply against the background of consistently high demand. Yes, last year's cabbage went on sale at UAH 8-13/kg.
