Agricultural export by water transport is gaining momentum

The rate of export of Ukrainian agricultural products by water transport in 2024 is gradually gaining momentum and growing. As of January 15, the volume of shipments reached 2.3 million tons.

It is noted that 477,000 tons were shipped through the Danube ports in the first half of January, and 1.7 million tons through the ports of Great Odesa.

"On the specified date, freight rates for bulk carriers to China decreased by approximately $5. At the same time, bids on Handy and Koster class vessels remain at a stable level compared to last week," the experts added.

Market rates for transportation by water transport from the port of Izmail as of January 15 were as follows:

Constanta, Romania — €22-28 (1-3 thousand tons).

During transportation from the port of Chornomorsk, the specified rates are as follows:

Italy (east coast) — $37-38 (30-35 thousand tons);

Italy (west coast) — $38-39 (30-35 thousand tons);

Spain (Mediterranean) — $39-42 (30-35 thousand tons);

Portugal — $39-42 (30-35 thousand tons);

China — $57-63 (60-65 thousand tons).
