The agrarians of Cherkasy region sowed 80% of the area with grain and legumes

Sowing in Cherkasy is at the finish line. Farmers have already sown more than 80% of the planned areas with grain and leguminous crops. Ihor Taburets, head of OVA, informed about this.

"Despite the challenges of the war and the vagaries of the weather, our farmers once again showed their strength and perseverance. We are in constant communication on work issues. Thank you to every soldier of the agrarian front of Cherkasy! Our food security is always in good hands!", - noted the head of the Regional State Administration.

In general, the sowing of wheat, barley and oats has already been completed in the region. Currently, farmers still grow corn, millet and technical crops. Potatoes and vegetable crops have already been planted on 68.4 thousand hectares.

According to the data of the "Sowing Online 2022/23" map, as of May 18, 345.7 thousand hectares of grain and legumes were sown in Cherkasy region. Corn, in particular, 292.9 thousand ha. 235,000 hectares were sown with sunflowers and 69,900 hectares with soybeans.
